If any dog has lived up to its name, then it was you sweet Duch Gór! Named after a Goral legend where a mountain spirit showed lost travelers the way home. A GOOD and GENTLE SPIRIT.
As you reached the age of 8 weeks, we traveled to Poland to pick you up and the very first night we signed a friendship pact for life. Confidently  you crawled with your then small body against me and fell asleep. Later as big boy you still loved to do this and were delighted if only we were around and with you!
A heck of a dog you were for us all, while writing this, the memories flash as a continuous film over and one by one all precious memories of you. Our buddy, a big friendly giant. Always friendly to everyone. Calm, balanced, careful, a true gentleman to ladydogs a macho towards other males , but oh so sweet! Anyone who closely knew and experienced you, knows how special you were, and what a great emptiness you now leave us with. The loss is beyond imagination  but now you have the peace you deserve. You were never ill, never gave but a whimper or growl when you had to go to   the vet. You were and remained until the last moment, just your friendly self, as big as you were. Your trust in people was boundless and we were so proud of you for that. Yet we totally unexpected and far too soon had to let you go  and were left with pain and sorrow. A malignant tumor was the cause. Towards you it was only just and right to  give you a dignified end and among the family you loved so much,  you quietly passed away.
You have left a great legacy behind. In your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren you will live on  and we hope they all have something of your “spirit” Duch Gór, how wonderful that would be! The sadness prevails today, but will wear. Beautiful memories remain with you!
If there is a dog heaven, you are definitely there!
